Artist's Comments

Having cycled 10 miles out to the countryside with my camera and three lenses on my back, I trudged up a muddy hill pushing and carrying my bike with me. At the top, below some transmitter towers lay a collection of bramble bushes which I spent 10 minutes taking from different angles (see also [link]). As I shivered, trying to keep warm a buzzard flew past being mobbed by a raven. That was when I felt properly happy.

Given 2007-10-27

I fell in love with Devil's Crown by ~netzephyr the moment I saw the thumbnail and my jubilation was surpassed upon full-view. This photograph exemplifies the nondescript element of abstract photography while emphasizing the expressiveness of monochrome images. Fantastic use of depth of field is matched by attention to compositional aesthetics. (Featured by ^opioid)
